SUMMARY
Research question:
Recent developments and the introduction
of a gender quota urge firms to recruit qualified women. We
investigate how to design job advertisements to attract female
applicants.
Methodology:
Two experimental vignette studies.
Practical implications:
Firms should avoid masculine characte-
ristics in job advertisements in order to increase the quality and
quantity of the female applicant pool. Except for gender quota,
statements about gender diversity increase the employer attrac-
tiveness.
