SUMMARY
Research question:
How does a continuing training program
during short-time work influence facets of organizational commit-
ment among employees?
Methodology:
A survey was conducted among employees of a
German manufacturing firm. The data were analyzed via regressi-
on analyses.
Practical implications:
In-house continuing training during
short-time work may be considered as a model of internal flexi-
curity – it secures employment and at the same time enhances
workers’ skills and organizational commitment on a broad scale.
The training content should benefit workers on the job and off the
job.
