Summary
Research question:
Which processes and context factors can help to
explain the relationship between age diversity and company perfor-
mance?
Methodology:
Two empirical studies in 275 small- and medium
sized companies.
Practical implications:
Both studies show that age diversity has
negative performance consequences for companies. Age stereotypes
of the top management team and diversity-friendly human resource
policies are identified as boundary conditions to buffer this negative
effect.
