Summary
Research question:
Human capital and sponsoring are critical drivers
for career success. Using the example of academia, men and women
do not differ in the intensity of these drivers, but in its impact on
career success.
Methodology:
We present results of a longitudinal study.
Practical implications:
Career supportive efforts should be individu-
alized for preventing adverse effects.
