21 04 / 22 PERSONALquarterly SUMMARY Research question: From an applicants’ perspective: What is the influence of the leadership style of the founder on the recruitment process? What role do perceptions of authenticity and demographic stereotypes play? Methodology: To answer these questions, we conducted a vignette study with potential job applicants. Practical implications: Showing an entrepreneurial leadership style can enhance new venture’s attractiveness as an employer, particularly if the entrepreneur fits with the stereotype of being young.
